There’s a lot to do in Las Vegas. For starters, there’s shows, casinos, shopping and dining. But while those activities are nice, they all take place indoors. Red Rock Canyon
Favored by many due to its proximity to Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon is only 15 minutes outside of Sin City. It’s a national park that has a 13-mile-long road you can drive on, and this scenic ride will take you about 20 to 30 minutes.
You’ll need to purchase a special National Parks Pass for this ride, and it will cost $10 per motorcycle.
Hoover Dam
One of the great engineering marvels of the modern world, Hoover Dam is actually quite close to Las Vegas, about a 45-minute ride away.
This ride will not only offer you spectacular views of Hoover Dam itself, but you’ll get a nice glimpse of Lake Mead, the Colorado River and the surrounding desert landscape on your way there and back.

Zion National Park
Located in southern Utah, Zion National Park is a favorite place to ride among motorcycle enthusiasts. It features 230 miles of scenic road that would take a few days to explore fully. It’s home to astonishing rock formations, cliffs, gorges, arches, buttes and desert landscapes.
The most dazzling view is at a spot called Angels Landing, where you can take in the Zion Canyon and fully appreciate its magnitude and its brilliance.
Oatman, Arizona
Northwestern Arizona is home to a quaint Old Western town called Oatman. It’s a relic of a bygone area, featuring dirt roads, western shows, clapboard buildings and free-range donkeys that wander the town’s streets.
The trip will probably take multiple days, as it’s a three-hour ride from Las Vegas and the only lodging is located outside of town, but taking your time in this old Route 66 mining town will let you soak it all in.
Death Valley
On the border of California and Nevada is Death Valley National Park. If you do decide to make this trip, pack plenty of water and sunscreen, as the temperatures here can get as high as any in the world during the summer.
But this trip is worth it for the barren beauty of the salt flats, the picturesque colored canyons and the surrounding mountains that border on the miraculous. If you’re up for it and want to stay the night, check out Zabriskie Point at sunset and sunrise, as the view will dazzle you like few things you’ve ever seen.
